The Village of Coal Grove will provide three clean up days.It is provided by the Perry Township Trustees. It will be at 4633 State Route 243, Ironton, and 469 County Road 1, South Point.

Perry Township will have two locations 8 a.m.–2 p.m.

It will be at 7681 County Road 1, in South Point and it is provided by the Fayette Township Trustees.

The first is in Fayette Township on Friday, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.It will be for residents only of various townships and villages, with people required to show proof of residency. Participants will be asked to bring marked rakes, leaf blowers, brooms and dust pans and gloves to McCulloch Park in downtown Salem off of East State Street, where everyone is to gather to kick off the cleanup day.There will be a series of clean-up days throughout Lawrence County this month. Salem residents are also reminded that the Salem Beautification Committee, sponsored by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, will hold the annual Downtown Salem Cleanup Day from 9 a.m. Workers from both the township and the city will man the site and assist residents. The event allows for residents in Salem and in Perry Township to get rid of old washers and dryers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers and large pieces of furniture. Salem Service/Safety Director Ken Kenst said the solid waste district, known as CCH Environmental serving Carroll, Columbiana and Harrison counties, is once again covering the cost for two 40-yard dumpsters where the items can be dumped. No televisions, computers or computer monitors will be accepted, but items with freon will be allowed. to noon April 27 in the city municipal parking lot off of Pershing and Lundy. Trustee Chair Cliff Mix also announced the township will take part with the city of Salem in the annual household appliance dropoff event from 8 a.m. Any tires must be separated from the other items to be picked up since the tires are picked up separately.Īny branches or twigs must be bundled and piled separately since they’re also picked up at a separate time. The cleanup also includes automobile and light duty truck tires, without rims, with a limit of five tires without rims per household. Each household is limited to one truckload of items. All items must be placed curbside in disposable containers that can be lifted by one person into a truck. Other prohibited items include propane tanks, paint products or paint cans and batteries.

The township has been putting on a spring cleanup for several years as a free service to residents, giving them a chance to get rid of some junk.
